I've done a decent job of keeping my journal up-to-date over the years, but sure, there are a few gaps here and there. And of course, because they're gaps, they're almost by definition unexplained.
That's what we have in mid-June, 2005: some blank days, and some days with very meagre notes. Here's what I can extract.
I do remember going to Pearson's BBQ on the Upper East Side after a dance performance at the Martha Graham school, where my daughter was learning posture and how to throw interesting shapes. There was a lunch at Bobby Flay's new Bar Americain, but all I know is that it featured an artisanal ham tasting.
We called off a visit to New Jersey, thanks to heavy rain. I made salmon with mustard sauce and some escolar tacos. I went to a preview of the terrific Pisarro-Cézanne show at MoMA, and exemplary comparative examination of the development of the two painters. And then my Canadian family came to town.
More detail next time.
