For whatever reason, I ate out a lot around New Year's 2003, even unto Kenny Shopsin's original shopfront.

I got some exercise around the galleries, but I ate quite a lot at home too.

I hardly have the heart for an end of year roundup. I skipped it for 2012, and had half a mind to skip it again.

But looking at two "best of" lists from front-line New York critics made me want to toss out a few sour grapes.
