Pleasant, slightly sour, slightly mushroomy, this cow's cheese from Brittany.
Creamy paste, not too pungent.
I don't know, am I getting fussy in my old age? This is clearly a good cheese, but it didn't have me swinging from the rafters.
Maybe I just like stronger flavors; more funk. Stripped of the rind, you could put this in a toddler's sandwich, and they wouldn't scream. Murray's says it's from the Loire. Well, it's from the Vendée, which is thereabouts.
