Found this smelly little disc at Buon Italia.
Bocconcio de Langa: soft, goat's milk, bloomy rind, oozing interior. And did I mention smelly?
It's the kind of cheese which, even double wrapped - makes you wish your weren't traveling on public transit. Pooh-ey.
Yet once unwrapped, and sliced, it comes over all demure, mild, creamy, inoffensive.
In fact, research tells me that a quantity of cream is blended with the goat's milk in the manufacture of this charming little treat. Not a blockbuster, but pleasant with a glass of light red wine. Three or four bucks a piece, depending on weight.
