Room for another nut? Here's a nomination for best bowl of hot nuts in town.
From Red Rooster, warm, spiced nuts, plenty for two or paradise for one nut-o-phile.
Enjoy them at the bar, which has such a superbly pleasant atmosphere. Enjoy them, as I did, with a Brownstoner (nutmeg-infused bourbon, Cherry Heering, St German), not to mention a Bourbon Negroni (fig/pear-infused bourbon and the usual fixings).
Spiced with? Just about every spice in the house, but remaining subtle. Shards of fresh mint giving the dish a kick. And the square things? Those are pieces of inerja bread, that spongy vehicle for African stews, fried crisp and none the worse for it.
Stay for dinner if you can.
