Launch party for an invitation-only designer shopping website? Free-flowing cocktails and a parade of models and might-as-well-be-models at the bar of CO-OP in the Hotel on Rivington?
Why thank you, Rue La La, I do have a gap in my social calendar. And what cheerful fun it was.
I know it's not champagne, but yes, I'd like another glass of it.
Ooh, how about a Rue-tini? Pink and sweet, just like the pig - and in fact carrying an unexpected wallop. Someone just dropped another glass. Whee!
Inexhaustible supply of passed hors d'oeuvres (and what a pleasant crew of servers threading through the well-refreshed throng). Above, a signature from the restaurant's regular menu, "Tuna Tuna Co-Op Yuzua Roll." Crisp shrimp tempura and a bit of green chili on top. Whoop!
The popcorns were truffled. I found an empty armchair at the front of the bar where I munched my way through a bucket of these while watching "arrivals."
Arrivals for the red carpet, where a corraled group of photographers did their work. The women were lovely, but I didn't recognize one of them. Nor they me, I suspect.
I just looked some up. Kelly Bensimon was striking. She's a real housewife of New York, it says here.
If the website is half as good as the launch party... Hey, good luck with it.
