Unbeatable soul food buffet. That's what Manna's is to me, reliable through its ever-shifting locations in Harlem and Brooklyn.
I hadn't been to this one before - that I remember, anyway. South side of 125th Street near Fifth Avenue.
The ribs can be disappointing, and I regretted picking one out this time. It was chewy. No regrets, though, about the "chicken stuffing." This is a diced cornbread stuffing with thick strands of dark chicken meat threaded through it, and enough salt for the ocean. In a good way. Some sweet platanos too.
Enough food for, well, one-and-a-half people (I didn't need the rib). Ten bucks.
