Sometimes, when you missed lunch and dinner is a distant promise, only a BLT will do.
There I was, on the Upper East Side and hungry. Halfway between an art show and a sherry tasting.
A diner beckoned. E.J.'s Luncheonette - retro but quite smart. The food comes out on weighty black plates. Isn't this how dishes at the Quilted Giraffe were plated? Nothing wrong with the BLT, although I wish I could get underdone bacon more easily.
